Continuing this thread, just this week AWS announced CloudControl.

Looks like “cloudformation lite” to me? This means that you can use it with Terraform’s or Pulumi’s providers while their engineering teams play catch-up.
AWS Chatbot comes to mind. I’d just recently spun it up for a client and the only way to get it working if I recall correctly is to launch a Cloudformation template and do some clicking around in the console by hand. I wonder if CloudControl would make it easier to work with?
By the way, I’d like to leave a ringing endorsement of AWS Chatbot. If you just want simple alerts and maybe some guided interaction with your cloud resources when things go sideways, and you use Slack, you can be well on your way to monitoring your stack in about 15 minutes!
